1) For each fault, estimate the magnitude of the largest earthquake. Then use the
formulas below to estimate the peak horizontal acceleration and velocity at the
hospital site (assume 84 percentile values).
2) List the faults in order of the likelihood of its next characteristic earthquake
occurring over time. (estimate from recurrence interval and time since last event)
3) Combining information of shaking and time, which fault gives the most hazard
over the next 50 years? Please state your justification or reasoning.
