My major is Interdisciplinary studies, while my minors are Communication, Leadership and Sport Studies. I choose to study this because it will help me greatly in the future. , Aas an international student, this major is something that can make me give back to my country. In the next 8 years I will be running for a post as the President of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria. Comment by Bobby Matthews: MAJOR GRAMMAR PROBLEM: COMMA SPLICE (Be sure you understand why.
I have learned ant a lot in most of my leadership class and thisthat will help me in beieng a good president. My research problem is how as the president of the athletics federation of Nigeria I can effectively run the organization and address the problem on how athletes can get good access to great facilities and good medical care. I will use what I have learned t i in n my leadership and kinesiology minors to answer this question. Comment by Bobby Matthews: Spelling and verb form incorrect (learned) Comment by Bobby Matthews: spelling Comment by Bobby Matthews: verb form (learnt is not a word)
In LHRD 3723, I learnedt about the leadership style that makes a good leader. A democratic leadership style will hich aids me in decision making , as the President of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria so that the organization can run smoothly. A democratic leader involves a team guided by a leader where all individuals are involved in the decision-making process to determine what needs to be done and how it should be done. In these processes I will be able to draw out my plans on how I can make the federation a better place for the elite and upcoming athletes and also empower group of member in aiding group decision making .There will be a drawing board set out for my workers to contribute , develodevelop p plans on how we can impact in athletes careers for the future. While in LHRD 2723, I Learned about the introduction to leadership and leadership development. Leadership development expands the capacity of individuals to perform in leadership roles within organizations. Leadership roles are those that facilitate execution of a company’s strategy through building alignment, winning mindshare and growing the capabilities of other, leadership roles may be formal, with the corresponding authority to make decision and take responsibility or they may be informal roles with little official authority as the President it’s my duty to understanding their personal traits, values, characteristics and development tasks as a foundation for leadership development. Comment by Bobby Matthews: GRAMMAR: SENTENCE FRAGMENT Comment by Bobby Matthews: MAJOR GRAMMAR: FUSED OR RUN-ON SENTENCE
I had an experience with a formal leader who was a team captain of LSU Track Field. I was able to use what I have learnt in LHRD 2723 about formal leaders to determine if she was a good leader. tMyhe team captain will beas considered a formal leader because she had a title of been the team leader and she had duties to complete. In LHRD 2723 I learnt that a great ood leader possess a clear vision of been courageous, honesty, humility and also sets out set positive goals. and has a positive mindset and they learn from their mistakes. My team captain played all of this role as a good leader. She serves as a link between the coach and the team and she was also effective and organizinged.. Comment by Bobby Matthews: *******To create the integration, describe the learning and the experience or observed behavior in detail. Can you say more about the learning? You certainly must SHOW the experience in more detail.
I also have an experience with a teammate of mine who is not captain, but I consider him as an informal leader , he is an informal leader because he does not have a title. In LHRD 3723 I we learnt that leader can have different kind of power. Referent power is when someone has power over another person because they are likable. He had referent power because everyone in the team likes him and always want to listen to him when he talks. He motives everyone before competing and even when anyone lost in the game, he encourages the person. Comment by Bobby Matthews: COMMA SPLICE. You can join these two clauses with a semi-colon (;) or write them as two separate sentences. Comment by Bobby Matthews: *******To make this integration effective in a manner that ILLUMINATES your claim that he is a “referent leader, you’ve got to SHOW the things he did or the behaviors he exhibited that made his fit this category.
In KIN 4517, class I learnt about the importancet of sport facilities and good medical services to athletes and also the policies and practices in the admiration of the athletic program. T Anhis athlete needs good facilities to help themhim in getting in great performance. As the president, I should be able to play this role of providing the needs of the athletes to get them to the top of their career. “Sports facilities can hold large tournaments that can bring people from neighboring towns and villages. This increase of people can help bring more revenue into the town or village a few times a year. Local businesses can also see an increase in revenue during these large events”. Also, in KIN 2513 is a very interesting class that can also help me in design to provide opportunity for upcoming athletes to grow professionally to enhance the learning process through hands -on opportunities and to gain an appreciation of the role, duties, responsibilities and nature of the work in the sport industry. Comment by Bobby Matthews: Clarity? What does this phrase convey to the reader? Comment by Bobby Matthews: What is the source of this quotation? Comment by Bobby Matthews: How about going into detail about this learning? Then, if you go into detail about some of your learning in Communication and in Leadership, perhaps you’d find some intersection that would enable you to develop cross-disciplinary INTEGRATION.
