You just need to follow all the instructions in the picture. And you must cite the sources.

In science, hypotheses are developed and then tested using available evidence. This assignment
involves researching a topic in dinosaur science and determining not only the currently
understood answer to that question, but also how paleontologists went about testing that idea.
How do we know the answer? What hypothesis was being tested? What methods were used to
evaluate that hypothesis? What evidence was collected to support or reject that hypothesis?
Research one of the following topics in dinosaur science.
Did the Ceratopsian dinosaurs (e.g. Triceratops) use their horns for defense?
Could the dinosaur Torosaurus be the same animal as the Triceratops?
What was the function of the plates and spikes of a Stegosaurus?
Did dinosaurs take care of their offspring?
I
How fast could the Tyrannosaurus rex run?
Was Tyrannosaurus rex a hunter or a scavenger?
Are there any aquatic dinosaurs? (Euryapsids and Mosasaurs aren’t dinosaurs!)
What was the function of the Pachycephalosaur dome?
Could the dinosaur Stygimoloch be the same animal as the Pachycephalosaurus?
How smart were the dinosaurs?
How long was the life span of an individual dinosaur? (ie: how old did they live to be?)
How long did it take for an individual sauropod to reach its massive size?
What kind of sounds did dinosaurs make?
Why were dinosaurs so big?
How did dinosaurs get enough oxygen to power their large bodies?
What specific types of plants did herbivorous dinosaurs eat?
Did dinosaurs live in herds?
Were dinosaurs warm-blooded or cold blooded?
Were dinosaurs scaly or feathery?
Are birds descended from dinosaurs?
Why did the dinosaurs go extinct?

Rules:
The target word count is 500, which is roughly 1 1/2 to 2 pages, double spaced.
Use at least three sources, at least one of which must be a published scientific journal article (ie:
not a webpage or newspaper), written by a scientist. The library website (library.sjsu.edu) is
a great way to find articles.
Magazine articles, newspaper articles, and online sources are okay for the rest of your sources.
Sources must be reliable and professional, and not encyclopedia or “fact-sheet” style pages
(e.g. Enchanted Learning, Wikipedia). A good article source will generally have an author.
Cite your three reliable sources using the citation style appropriate for your major (MLA, APA,
etc.). You’ll lose many points if you don’t cite any sources.
Remember that scientific names should be italicized and capitalized. Triceratops, not
Triceratops or triceratops.
Spell check. Write well. Use complete sentences.
No plagiarism. Don’t copy sentences directly from another source. Even a sentence that is
slightly modified is considered plagiarized. Always write your own sentences.
Don’t quote the articles. There is no reason to include quotes in a scientific paper.
