However, I want to put myself out there to learn and explore in all departments of the company such as E-marketing, content writing, creative thinking, customer relations, database management, web development and so much more. I hope by the end of my internship program that I exceed the expectations and leave a positive effect through my work and my work relationships.
1.3 The Coop Plan
As a trainee, I was introduced to the company’s facilities and my workplace through the training supervisor in the company.
During my first week, my first task was to research and read about the company, its place in the market, and its competitors.
My Coop plan was not fixed every week tasks changes to fit the need including:
· E-Marketing
· Developmental ideas proposal
· Research and development
· Communication with other companies
· Writing content
· Feasibility study
· Marketing campaigns targeting businesswomen
· Marketing plans
1.4 Role and Responsibility
As an intern in the company, my role was continuous learning in E-commerce on all aspects everyday. Also assisting company employees in tasks, search for potential customers, attending meetings. One of my responsibilities is to write a weekly report on productivity at work, what tasks have been performed and what notes are required for unfinished tasks.
Chapter 2: Coop Work description and Achievements
In this chapter I will include all the tasks and projects assigned to me. My role and the tools used in each of them.
2.1 Project/task definition in detail
· Project Name: Riyadiat Show
The idea of Riyadiat show is to attract women entrepreneurs and provide them with a place to display their products in professional way in exchange for a specific amount of money, that includes a professional photo session for the products in addition to a consultative session with experts in the field from the company and then can use it to market their products on “Souq Riyadiat” or their own business accounts. I have been asked to attend a meeting with other trainees and the marketing team to arrange and collect ideas and information on how to reach the owners of small business interested in this field and we discussed on how we can convince them to join. Also, how the idea of the program will be explained in a simplified way and why they should choose us from other programs. My role in this project was to search for possible projects to participate in the exhibition and collect all the required data through a database that collects information about the owners of the projects and start communicating with them through their official accounts or mobile numbers. I was also asked to search and submit developmental ideas for how the project would succeed. Finally, after collecting all the required data and sorting them out, a specialist team in the company communicates with projects owners that complying with the established standards.
· Project Name: Souq Riyadiat
Souq Riyadiat is an electronic platform that brings together the most important women’s brands, whether they are products (fashion, beauty, jewelry, accessories … etc.), or services (decorative designer, fashion designer, photographer, etc.) in one place and through one specialized platform. The products and services owned and managed by women, regardless of the location of the project in any Saudi city or province, or even a Gulf region, and raising awareness of women’s projects and existing local brands. My first task was to go to the website and write all my notes on how it is possible for the site to develop better technically and as content and then submitted to my supervisor. My second task in this project was to take a feasibility study for the market and work on it. And make a list of competitors companies such as a boutiqaat company and what are the advantages and disadvantages of each of them. Also one of my tasks was writing marketing content and trying to attract the largest possible number of potential customers for the company through social media channels such as Twitter and Instagram. My last task on this project was to contact with shipping companies and safe payment companies such as Mada, StcPay and take all the information’s and procedures needed to work with them on the website.
· Project Name: Entrepreneurial Network
The goal of the network is to bring women entrepreneurs and women investors together on one platform to help each other succeed in their businesses through a set of services and benefits. I attended a meeting with the E-commerce management team and we developed a plan to add new features to the network and here it was my task. Collecting companies data in all the fields that can collaborate with us as a company by providing certain services or discounts to all members of the network in return EW will display the joining company’s products from brochures and other services they can provide, advertising and marketing for a period of three Free months, after which it ends, a certain amount will be agreed upon. When I finished collecting the data I created a database containing the companies names, contacting info and the feedback from the contacted company if they agree to collaborate or not. The contacting process was like this, I called through the EW’s official phone the numbers for each company on the database and tried to convince them to collaborate with us, upon the initial approval of the company in collaboration, an official email is sent to include all-important legal information for the two parties. This was done with the help of EW legal team.
This table shows the definitions of each task that I took or apply to my work:
Table 1: Tasks definition
Research and development
“Research and development – R&D – is the process by which a company works to obtain new knowledge that it might use to create new technology, products, services, or systems that it will either use or sell. The goal most often is to add to the company’s bottom line.”

“Is the utilization of social media technologies, channels, and software to create, communicate, deliver, and exchange offerings that have value for an organization’s stakeholders.”
2.2 Methodology adopted for solving the problem
I worked out each task that I’ve given firstly, by asking my supervisor to clarify any doubts or obstacles facing me. Secondly, reaching to other colleges or workers in the company to have an advice or second opinion on some questions that I had. Finally, by searching for the information my self in so many ways such as searching and reading more about the concepts or tasks that have been giving to me. During my internship in the company, I faced some problems, starting with writing content in Arabic and trying to make it creative in addition to attracting the recipient, without being boring or unprofessional. Also, when I was assigned the task of studying the feasibility of the company, I faced several problems, as it was my first time doing it and not familiar with all its content. As for the problem of writing content, I went to the content & promotion team, took some advices on how to improve my writing and skills. Also, the problems that I faced in feasibility study, I was able to solve it with the help of another trainee student her major is economics. Also, one of my tasks was to send promotional direct message via Instagram, the problem was Instagram blocked the account after a certain number of messages for protection reasons. As a solution I suggested to my supervisor to use Instagram AD’s instead of direct messages to avoid this problem.
2.3 Details of tools/questionnaire used
As an e-commerce company the use of tools in all departments is very important and useful. There are several types used by the company such as Google ads, Google Analytics, Mailchimp and many others. But the tools that I was able to use, such as Twitter ads and Instagram ads were very useful in increasing the recognition, the visits to our website and gaining many followers on the company’s social media channels.
2.4 Data collection and analysis
During my time as a trainee in the company, I was not allowed to access some information or views previous analyze and share them for privacy reasons. But, I could collect the information by searching through a previous database used by the company or through the Internet collecting and organize it in a simplified way in Google documents or through an Excel file.
2.5 Theoretical background/courses used in the problem solving
As a practical person, I always wanted to apply what I studied through my theoretical courses in the practical field, and indeed I was able to do it through my training period. Using several previous courses that I learned and it was very helpful to me when I applied it to my work. In terms of making decisions, I benefited greatly from the course principle of management (MGT101) and strategic management (MGT401) and tried to apply it as much as I can in the decisions that I had to make or suggest. Also, As shown in this report, through a training period in an e-commerce company, I was expected to be familiar in all aspects in this field, these courses helped me a lot when presenting new marketing ideas, proposals such as online branding, customer acquisition techniques and video marketing. All of this with the information’s that I learned in these courses, an e-commerce (ECOM101), E-marketing (ECOM301) and Social media marketing (ECOM322).
Chapter 3: Student Insight
During my time working in the company, it was a wonderful learning experience in all aspects. The working environment was very creative and supportive environment. All the employees was very helpful when information is needed or when facing any difficulties in dealing with some tasks at work. I have been able to work with various teams in the company and expand my knowledge in several areas in the company. Flexibility was one of the most important features that I got during my training for the company. As I’m graduate student in my last year of college, I had four courses remaining and two days a week for the university. So I was given the choice of whether to work in the morning or evening shifts, according to what is appropriate for the nature of my studies in a way that does not conflict with the efficiency of my work in the company. I have developed a lot and gained many skills in a short time. My research skills have evolved Significantly. Also, I did not expect my content writing skills to be good enough for a professional level, but with the support I was receiving, I was able to develop this skill more. And hopefully in the near feature I’ll take more courses in content creation because I think I found my passion. In terms of difficulties, we were forced to stop the training period due to external factors. Unfortunately I could not complete some of the tasks assigned to me. One of my tasks that I could not do was writing an official letter and creating a marketing plan to attract celebrities to “Souq Riyadiat” because of our sudden stop to work. The main reason we were unable to complete the experience was corona virus or (covid-19) it is a virus spread all over the world and the only preventive solution is social distance. Therefore, we were advised not to go to the workplace, whether employees or trainees. It was very unfortunate that we were unable to complete the entire training experience and did not have the chance to thank everyone personally.
Chapter 4: Conclusions and Recommendations
My first objective was to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills in the field of electronic commerce. I achieved this goal through the tasks that had been assigned to me through the searching process. I was assigned to search for the largest possible number of articles and sites specialized in electronic commerce, searching the names of women entrepreneurs in this field their history and what can we apply from their experiences to enhance our performance as a new company. My second objective was participating in all departments of the company as much as possible and learns in all areas. I achieved this goal through my daily question to my supervisor about what tasks can be performed by me in any available projects or events. Help any employee working on a specific project. The beginning was difficult because being a trainee is rarely trusted in your abilities but for me I decided to take a decision and put myself out there and offer my services to everyone. I achieved this through my work with the technical team in developing the website by providing developmental ideas, and also worked with the marketing team through social media marketing on all social media channels of the company. Also, gained knowledge in official communication by communicating with several official companies with the customer relation’s team.
