Hello class, my name is Laura Alonso, I have been working as RN at Digestive Medicine about three years.  I never go through my mind to become a nurse, however, when I get to the United States, I realized that a great opportunity, courage, and the great field that nursing has here. Becoming a nurse practitioner will not only better my skills in the field every day, but also give me better comprehension of the specialty through daily practice. One motivation for becoming a health care professional has always been my passion for helping others. Saving lives is one of the things I might get to do with this job, maybe even daily, and it would make me feel fulfilled that after all the hard work I was able to make someone stay in this world for a little or a while longer. This profession will, also, help me better myself and family financially, which is something many people aspire to.
