Alluring Waterton Glacier National Park
Nature has bestowed the beautiful life for human beings to appreciate and live for. Those
enticing beauty of nature is preserve by different national parks, among those many national
parks, Waterton Glacier National Park is great reflection of beauty depicted and behold by
nature. Waterton Glacier National park is an ideal dream since this park includes a beauty and
history of Glacier National park resided at United States and Waterton National park sited at
Canada. Moreover, union between these both park was obtained with an assistance of Rotary
International members on 1932. This park has been the source of pride for both of the
countries and precisely for Montana (United States) and Alberta (Canada). This park has
intact ecosystem of wildlife and wildflowers. Therefore, to protect the ecosystems in the
Rocky Mountains of Canada and western United States, it was listed on the world heritage
sites by UNESCO on December 6, 1995. Since, this International peace park is unification of
two national parks it covers the area of both park. Moreover, unification of two parks has
added significance beauty, along with preservation of ecosystem of wildlife and wildflower
in both parks.
This international peace park has unified alluring beauty of Waterton National park
located at Canada and Glacier National Park of US. Since, this park lies and covers an area
across Canada, it requires passport to visit sites resided on Waterton National park. As it is
unification of two park, Waterton National park has covered 52,500 hectares in total area and
ownership of this area owned by legislative of Canada whereas Glacier National park is owned

by government of the United States with coverage of total area 410,187 hectares (National Park
Service 1995). This park-wide coverage and union of two parks reflect that it is built with an
intention of promoting peace and harmony along with preservation of ecosystem of wildlife
and wildflowers which is scattered along the political borders of two countries. This park hold
cultural as well as historical beauty of both countries. This international peace park contains
the three major watersheds. In Glacier National park, Going-to-the-Sun Road is one of a
beautiful place for visiting. It is a heart of Glacier National park. It includes many short hiking
trails popular among hikers. Hiking trail of Baring falls is also most attractive place to visit of
Glacier National Park. This waterfall is suitable for short hiking which follows a trail and
begins from Sunrift Gorge situated at the west of Going-to-the-Sun Road. This falls is named
after Baring brothers. The trail for Baring falls pass through rapids and cataract before reaching
junction. This place has the pleasant vibes of nature beauty. After Baring fall, Logan Pass is
another beautiful place to visit which is highest point on Going-to-the-Sun Road. Likewise,
blue waters of Cracker Lake surrounded by Mount Siyeh has supplemented beauty of Glacier
National Park.
Along, beauty of Chief Mountain is so captivating and mesmerizing. The rectangular
depiction from distance makes it memorable and one of the attractive place of Glacier
National Park. Similarly, Waterton National Park has various beautiful places open for visit
which has captivated the beauty of nature. Among many places, Cameron falls is one of those
beautiful places. This is the focal point of Waterton village which is formed by the oldest
rock. The short climbs resided on both sides of falls provided the distinct beauty of Cameron
fall. The exposed rock of Cameron fall is carbon and is originated at Cameron Lake. The
water flow at Cameron fall flows a bridge and flows through parkland into Cameron Bay.
Likewise, another beautiful places of Waterton National park is Red Rock Canyon. The
landscape of Rock Canyon is unique as mountains surround hills and grassland. The

mountains in Red Rock Canyon are not tall but beauty reflected in Canyon is pleasant to see.
It is deep canyon characterize with beautiful and unique red rocks of different shapes. The
narrow highway but broad canyon of red rock Canyon supplement beauty of national park
protecting ecosystem of wild. Similarly, Carthew-Alderson Trail is popular among hikers
because it has narrow as well as broad trail which offers pleasant and adventurous walk for
all hikers and climbers. The scenery of mountains, lakes, and glaciers even portray the
attractive beauty. This trail lead to Carthew Lake. Also, through this trail beautiful glaciers
view of Glacier national park offers mesmerizing visualization for hikers and climbers along
this trail.
Meanwhile, this international park has unified a beauty of Glacier National park and
Waterton National park along with preservation of ecosystem of wildlife and wildflowers. As
ownership of both national parks lies with a respective government, each of the national
parks is preserving the ecosystem of wildlife and plants. According to UNESCO, “Over 95%
of the property is managed for wilderness values, but the property must be managed within
the Crown of the Continent ecosystem” (UNESCO World Heritage 2018). This park is home
for golden eagles, wolves, Cougars, Grizzly bear, mountain goats, and many other mammals
as well as birds. Likewise, a beauty of wildflower could be observed with a beauty of the
divided region from tall elevated region to low elevated places. Beargrass is rare plant found
in this park, likewise, mountain-lily is also found along Waterton Lake. This park is home of
“at least 1,150 vascular plants, 275 lichens and 400 mosses and liverworts have been
identified within Glacier. Waterton provides habitat for approximately 970 vascular plants as
well as about 220 lichens and 200 mosses and liverworts” (National Park Service 2015). In
other words, this international peace park is the home for a various rare plant. This park has
been preserving the biodiverse ecosystem of wildlife and wild plant.

Lastly, Waterton Glacier National park has preserved an ecosystem of living species
while portraying and preserving the beauty of nature. This park unification of Glacier
National park and Waterton National park has added significance in international peace and
harmony between Canada and United States. The great canyon, lakes, grassland has
beautified the natural beauty of this park.
