Compare the ranking of U.S. GDP (purchasing power parity) to that of other countries by visiting the
CIA’s World Factbook
.
After reading the article
U.S.A comes up a bit short in global Better Life Index
and comparing the relative ranking of U.S. GDP to other countries, what is the link between wealth and well-being? Do governments have a responsibility to address well-being?

While comparing the ranking of U.S. GDP (purchasing power parity) to that of other countries , I most definitely noticed that the United States did not carry the highest ranking. Countries such as Italy and Mexico have tiptop rankings, but far from the highest. Although the United States ranking did not seem as high as some other countries, the United States use the U.S. dollar and the GDP of a country is measured in its own currency.
After reading the article and comparing the ranking of U.S. GDP to other countries, I found that the link between wealth and well-being is the measurement in categories such as housing, jobs, health, ect…..
Governments do have a responsibility to address well-being, and that matter is to number its (GDP).

After reading the article, USA comes up a bit short in global Better Life Index, I am shocked that the US ranked as high as it did. However, I am happy to see that the US is not at the bottom of the list. The article states that “the Better Life Index attempts to measure these categories: housing, income, jobs, community, education, environment, governance, health, life satisfaction, safety and work-life balance. I feel that the link between wealth and well-being is if individuals have the money then they have a better lifestyle or well-being. I do feel that the government has a responsibility to address well-being. For instance, regardless of individuals income, the wealthy should not receive an advantage over others when it comes to healthcare and education. Citizens have to start somewhere and if they continue to be disregarded because of their income level then they will never get ahead. I feel that the government should make some type of changes to help citizens more than what they are providing at this time.
