331 Assignment 3- Spring 2020 Alsaati
Assignment 3
In this assignment, you should research about videos on YouTube that are relating the topics of business negotiations. For example, a scene from a movie where an entrepreneur is negotiating the terms of shares for their new company, a car dealer agent trying to convince a buyer to purchase the car, a person negotiating the terms of a contract for a new purchase or a new position in a company, a politician negotiating the terms of an agreement between nations or an economic cause, and so on… Your video should not necessarily end with a win-win situation; you can show a video of negotiations gone bad and provide recommendations alongside the analysis.
After selecting the video (read video specifications below), you need to write a report of analysis to reflect the topics of business negotiations such as the below (and not limited to them):
· Personality
· Culture
· Communications
· Body language and behaviors
· Relationship and outcome strategies
· Negotiation strategies
· Observations
· And if possible, recommendations.
Assignment specifications:
· Your assignment should include 3 parts; the written analysis of the video clip, a PowerPoint slide that contains the highlights of your analysis, and a link of the video on YouTube posted on the paper and the PowerPoint slide (all should be submitted via blackboard).
· Deadline for the assignment submission on blackboard is Saturday, March 21, 2020 by 11:59 pm midnight.
· Late submissions receive a ZERO.
· You will present your work in class via PowerPoint slides & video clip and share your analysis for 5 minutes “strictly” on March 22, 24 & 26 according to the attached excel sheet.
· Use APA writing style and include your references.
· Document length is 1000-1500 words.
· This is an individual assignment.
· This assignment is worth 10 marks (divided between your submission, video selected and presentation of analysis).
Video Specifications:
· The video has to present a scene that is relative to business negotiations (it could be from real political events, a clip from a movie, etc.).
· The length of your video should be between 30 seconds to 2 minutes.
· Your video should be representable and of high quality (sound, picture resolution, etc.).
· May be downloaded into a flash memory or can be accessible via link.
· Technical issues will not be tolerated and your time will be calculated from the moment your name is called, so be prepared in advance (a suggestion might be to select a single student and upload all your work in her flash memory to save the time).
·
Your video should not contain sensitive material, aggressive or disrespectful verbiage or any show of unacceptable behavior (keep in mind that you are presenting in PMU and you should be following the behavioral guidelines).
· The instructor will provide the sound speaker.
