create and develop a short presentation, using microsoft PowerPoint, that pitches their period design idea for a boutique hotel.
Assigned:Students should choose one period/movement they learned about in this course, and create a PowerPoint presentation to pitch their design idea for two hotel spaces: one guest room and one public space (a lobby, bar, restaurant, spa, pool area, conference room, hallways, etc).
The PowerPoint should include:
Slide 1
The real or imaginary hotel’s name.
The chronological period the hotel is seeking to recreate.
The name of the associated movement or style associated with the design period.
Your name and contact information in one corner (include this on every slide)
Slide 2
A mood board to visually illustrate the overall design (no captions on mood board).
Your name and university contact information in one corner (include this on every slide)
Slides 3 and 4
One slide for each space (guest room, and public space) with highlights of decor, objects, colors, etc. from your moodboard, and/or additional visual examples of period objects and decor that you will use in each space.
Layout suggestions for each space (guest room, and public space)
Numbers on each object (relate these to your captions, either in text boxes beneath each image or at the slide base, or on a 6th slide)
Names and information regarding any designers closely associated with the movement/period
Your name and university contact information in one corner of each slide
Full captions for all images (except from moodboard slide) that relate to numbered images.
