For this assignment, you are going to create a paper prototype for a client (me). Your paper prototype must illustrate interactions between the user and the interface. The paper prototype must also include content.
I would like an application for my smartphone that reminds me when to water my plants.
From the following list, select two (2) features and create a paper prototype to illustrate how the application will look, ?ow, and interact with the user across those two features.
Features:
Low Fidelity Prototyping
A low fidelity (LF) prototype allows the designer to explore how the
user will interact with an interface. Another term for low fidelity
prototype is “wireframe”.
Like sketches, low fidelity prototypes should be quick, easy, and
cheap to produce.
We will be exploring a few different methods of low fidelity
prototyping.
We will be exploring two methods of low fidelity
prototyping:
•
paper prototyping
•
software prototyping, using Balsamiq
Paper Prototyping
How is a paper prototype different from a sketch?
•
more interactive than a sketch
•
more detailed than a sketch
Paper prototypes allow the designer to illustrate and test user
interactions with an interface.
The screens or screen elements can be manipulated and moved to
simulate the interface (either with a user or without)
Creating Paper Prototypes
Paper prototypes are often created with index cards, but
you can use any kind of paper!
Each screen is represented on one piece of paper or index
card.
