PURPOSE
:
· To help students understand the connection between the driving philosophy of occupational therapy and the services that are provided by occupational therapy clinicians.
· To provide an opportunity to synthesize course concepts, and cohesively explain course concepts.
The American Occupational Therapy Association has used several themes and/or mottos in their promotional efforts. Some of these have been: a) “Living Life to its Fullest;” 2) “Skills for the Job of Living;” and, 3) Building Skills for a Better Life.”
You will select one textbook reading (must be different than any of the readings you have used to date). You will reflect on one of the above themes/mottos, and write a short paper (no more than 2 pages) on the meaning of the theme/motto, and how that theme is reflected in the reading you have chosen. Be sure that your paper includes the following:
· A citation for the reading you have chosen
· The motto you have chosen to write about
