Is there an easier way to remember when to italicize the title of a source and when to italicize the publisher?
The year of publication can be placed after the author’s name in peripheries when paraphrasing source information. Another way to cite a source is to incorporate the year and author’s name at the beginning of a sentence. For example, according to Smith (2022), before the source’s information on the topic that you are discussing. If there are two authors, use both last names with & in-between the names, such as Smith & Jones (2022). If there are more than two authors, use the first last name of the source followed by et al., and the year of publication, for example (Smith et al., 2022) (P.U., 2021). For a direct quote of the author, place the author’s name at the beginning of the sentence followed by the year, and at the end of the sentence, the page number of the source in parentheses. However, you can also use all three elements within parentheses and place them at the end of the sentence, such as (Smith, 2022, p.148).
