The second topic that I chose was about healthcare settings and systems. Healthcare settings include the type of services that are offered within a care facility. They may include care services offered in acute healthcare settings, rehabilitation centers, and nursing homes (Hasbrouck, 2021). The topic is important because with it care providers might look at things such as health insurance which are very crucial for the provision of healthcare services.
Healthcare systems and settings can also easily lead to secondary conditions and complications which usually arise from prior conditions or affect a person due to an existing healthcare condition. For instance, healthcare systems and settings are related to houses and homes that people in the community are residing (Hasbrouck, 2021). Without proper housing, things such as mental health and abuse of drugs are more likely to affect a person. Furthermore, without proper insurance cover, people are more likely to get a lower quality type of treatment in healthcare facilities which can easily lead to secondary health conditions such as bowel or bladder problems which might arise due to lack of timely treatment of a health problem.
One of the criteria used to understand risks that are developed due to the type of healthcare systems and settings is through the acquisition of data from trusted healthcare sites. Such data can give proper trends associated with healthcare systems and settings (USDHHS, 2021). For instance, data can be obtained from research that shows the relationship that exists between different types of insurance coverage and how they can lead to secondary healthcare conditions such as the mental health of the patients without proper medical cover.

Why is the selected topic important?
Obesity has risen at an alarming rate in recent decades, prompting the World Health Organization to proclaim it a worldwide health crisis (WHO, 2000). Adult obesity has more than doubled in Europe in the last 20 years, with 39 percent of European adults overweight and another 21% obese (Cameron et al., 2003).Other industrialized countries, such as the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia, have seen similar patterns (Ogden et al., 2006). Obesity increases the risk of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, stroke, osteoarthritis, and metabolic-related cancers (Kopelman, 2000; WHO, 2000).
Would this lead to secondary conditions or complications?
The trends mentioned are concerning because obesity contributes to increased morbidity and mortality by increasing the risk of conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, stroke, osteoarthritis, and metabolic-related cancers (Kopelman, 2000; WHO, 2000).
What criteria are used to understand risk of developing such conditions or complications?
The link between overweight or obesity and other health problems raises public awareness.
Relevance in terms of health Research by Must, Spadano, Coakley, Field, Colditz, and Dietz was published in 1999. implies that being overweight or obese raises the risk of developing connected health problems. As an example, the prevalence of having two or more health issues (type 2 diabetes, heart disease, etc.) has increased. Gallbladder disease, coronary heart disease, hypercholesterolemia, hypertension, or a combination of these conditions all racial and ethnic subgroups saw an increase in osteoarthritis (Must et al., 1999). Inflammatory cytokines and hormones produced from adipose tissue are thought to play a key role in the pathogenesis of obesity-related illnesses, and hence may influence the link between obesity and periodontal disease. This suggests a link between obesity, inflammatory-related chronic diseases, including diabetes, and periodontitis.

The Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP) began an initiative that sets projections of health conditions every 10 years and addresses health challenges to enhance health indicators nationwide (McGowan et al., 2019). This initiative is called Healthy people. The objective on the topic of overweight and obesity, according to Healthy people, is to reduce obesity and overweight through assisting people in eating nutritious and healthy food and getting physical activity and access to physical exercise. Obesity and overweight are defined as a condition whereby fats accumulate excessively or abnormally in a human being’s body in a manner that eventually impairs health. Obesity and overweight is brought about by an imbalance of energy between the calories the body absorbs and those it expends
The topic of obesity and overweight is important because the statistics on obesity have tripled worldwide since 1975, and it affects all people regardless of age or sex. This means that even young children and adolescents are currently susceptible to obesity. For this reason, learning about obesity is important because the condition is preventable. According to Földi, M. et al. (2020) Obesity and overweight can lead to secondary conditions or complications, and they are linked to conditions and diseases like high blood pressure, cardiovascular diseases, asthma, cancer, diabetes, and mental health conditions like depression, and anxiety
In conclusion, all over the world, individuals have increased their intake of foods that are high in sugars and fat as there has been increased physical inactivity caused by changing modes of transport, the changing nature of work, and increase in urbanization. According to Favieri (2019), particular criteria are used to understand the risk of developing such conditions or complications as overweight and obesity. For instance, the body mass index of an individual is monitored to prevent it from being raised to reduce risk. In addition, individuals are encouraged to eat healthy foods and participate in physical activity to reduce the accumulated fats that may cause obesity.

Addiction is a form of disease, as well as it can posture a series of negative effects on a person. The consequences of addiction can affect one’s health, physical health and wellness and also specialist life. There are many kinds of dependency, as well as every one presents its own series of risks. While alcohol and drug dependency use typically begin as voluntary actions, addiction triggers chemical changes in the brain that affect memory, actions as well as the assumption of pleasure as well as discomfort (Chiappini, et al., 2020). The consequences of substance misuse consist of but are not restricted to: aware choices which become uncontrollable activities, and also the significant health and wellness, economic and social effects that follow. Uncontrollable desires integrated with long term abuse can trigger lasting adverse health repercussions throughout the body. Most materials will trigger strain on the organs, along with the venous and respiratory system after prolonged usage (Chiappini, et al., 2020). Numerous forms of addiction change the individual’s physical make-up, often also just after a couple of weeks of use.
Lots of addicting materials are extremely managed and also, in particular circumstances, even banned by regional as well as federal governments. This is carried out in an attempt to reduce the consequences of addiction and also to protect the health of Americans. Being captured with a big amount of drugs can result in a jail sentence as long as 40 years (Nestler, & Lüscher, 2019). Civil lawsuits may include it as well, depending on if the person had actually been dispersing the compound. If found guilty on villainous fees, the person can lose the capability to vote as well as later on have problem locating employment, specifically after offering a jail sentence. Presently, about 47 percent of prisoners offering federal jail sentences are doing so on medication offenses, although the majority of were included with trafficking on some level (Nestler, & Lüscher, 2019).
On a relevant note, dependency likewise has a significant effect on the user’s economic circumstance. Consistent medication or alcoholic abuse generally brings a price in the thousands on a yearly basis. The person might acquire financial debt, and might experience problems in the process such as separation, home repossession as well as vehicle foreclosure. If the customer ends up losing a job or getting detained as a product of the addiction, the economic issues pile up also additionally. Addiction is tough to conceal (Nestler, & Lüscher, 2019). As chronic drug abuse continues, it will impact nearly every facet of the user’s life. Their capacity to concentrate may be lessened, their mood may fluctuate, and also their passions will likely transform as medicine desires come to be uncontrollable.
The social results of drug dependency typically consist of stress within a family, if not a straight-out rift, even if the user hides their compound intake well. Friendship dynamics commonly alter as well, as non-users will progressively locate much less alike with (as well as battle to enjoy the firm of) buddies that continually make use of. Quickly enough, an addict might only discover convenience when around other people that abuse material. In other cases, the addict’s social circle might shrink to the point where he or she continues to abuse compounds on a specific basis, with very little human get in touch with in between (Argyriou, et al., 2018). Solitude can certainly set in, as well as mental health and wellness problems like depression or social anxiousness can establish. The worst-case circumstance in this scenario is the lonesome individual goes to risk for suicide, and also he or she might try to overdose deliberately.
Anybody can create an addiction, no matter history, social status or ideas. It can be challenging to recognize why some people are more susceptible to it than others. Despite a person’s moral code or the means they have been increased, there are lots of variables that can raise the risk of being an alcoholic or drug user (Argyriou, et al., 2018). Genes, medical history, atmosphere and also other threat factors can add to dependency. Some medications, along with methods of taking them, are a lot more addictive than other kinds as well. Research study continues to consider just how drug abuse begins as well as how it expands. There are numerous factors that can boost an individual’s risk for chemical abuse, which are referred to as danger elements. Risk factors can influence drug abuse in numerous means (Argyriou, et al., 2018). The more risks that an individual is revealed to, the more probable they will certainly abuse compounds and might end up being depending on it.
