Compose a brief essay (3-5 pages, Times New Roman, 12 pt. font, double-spaced, standard 1 inch margins) that reflects on the prompt below. You are expected to think critically about the subject matter at hand and bring your original ideas, thoughts and experiences into your responses.
While this is a reflective thought paper, you should also draw from course materials and discussions in formulating your responses and cite any ideas that are not originally your own. Although you are not required to cite excessively, you should cite at minimum two course readings/ videos. When citing, please use a standard citation style (MLA, APA, Chicago, etc)

This is more of a reflection paper. The depth, coherence, and quality of your ideas and reflection matter most. As for all assignments, please check the rubric (below) for how you will be assessed. Answer all questions in the prompt.

Prompt:
What do you consider to be the most salient aspects of your social identities and why? What has been influential in shaping your identities and how you view yourself and the world in regards to these identities? What various meanings are attached to your identities both in your community and outside your community? How do you believe that your social identities shape the lens through which you view the world and interact with others, particularly those who may be viewed as different from you?
For the purposes of this reflection, your focus should be on social identities (as they are discussed in the course materials- readings, videos, and class discussion) versus personal/ individual identities. It is suggested that you chose 2-3 social identities to explore (if only exploring one, it should be quite in depth). Ensure that you answer all aspects of the prompt above for each social identity that you delve into.
