Running head: ROLE OF BOTH PARENTS IN PARENTING 1
ROLE OF BOTH PARENTS IN PARENTING 4
Role of Both Parents in Parenting
Role of Both Parents in Parenting
The topic for discussion is the role of both parents in raising children. The upbringing strategies employed by parents play a critical role in determining the moral conduct. Studies have indicated that only one parent participates in parenting more so during the early stages of the development of a child. For instance, maternal leave is highly embraced, which is not the case in paternal leave. Both parents should be there for their children to instil discipline and having the child-parent bond. Fathers have always declined their role in bringing up their (Morrill et al., 2010).
This topic is relevant to the course on parenting and discipline, as it will provide required information concerning parenting and the strategies employed in instilling discipline to a child. The world is characterized by a busy society whereby the parents have no time for their children. The children do not have enough time to spend with their children even after school hours. The busy schedules delineate either or both of the parents, which is not healthy in the process of bringing up the child (Hurley et al., 2014). These children lack the parent-children bond. Women solely participate in parenting, which should not be the case (Fagan & Kaufman, 2015).
This topic is also relevant to the course as it will provide the best strategies that should be employed in bringing up a child. Both parents should participate in the process of bringing up children (Dwivedi, 2017). The concepts ensure that these children are brought healthily. Parents are the immediate entities that a child is exposed at in the stages of development. They are integral in interpreting the world to the child. Therefore, the child should get both sides of the world that is from a maternal and paternal view. Since human beings are moral agents, the parents will assist in moulding the code of conduct of the child for them to be socially acceptable (Yousafzai et al., 2015). Generally, the topic of the role of both parents in parenting is relevant. Parenting should not be one-sided. Through this topic, research will be done evaluating both the advantages and disadvantages of both parents participating in the upbringing process.

Running head: BIBLICALLY BASED PARENTAL ROLES
BIBLICALLY BASED PARENTAL ROLES
Biblically Based Parental Roles
Biblically Based Parental Roles
Various aspects that determine the code of conduct of a given society define the process of bringing up a child. It is expected that a child should meet the moral standard of the particular society whereby the aspects such as faith, the agreed norms of the society, and the rules determine morals and regulations set by the state. These roles are bequeathed to the parents who are the most immediate persons to whom a child encounters. They are crucial in interpreting the world for the child. This paper will address the biblical role of parents in bringing up a child.
Different approaches have been adopted in parenting that ends up affecting the well-being of children. In most cases, authoritative, conservative, and permissive approaches. The authoritative approaches are classified as one of the best of the approach as it calls for obedience (Teti & Cole, 2011).
God ordered the child to be the fruit of his mother’s womb. These sections “Deuteronomy 4: 9-10 and 6: 4-9” are directed for training children. What the parent knows should be reported to the child. These words were given directly to the children of Israel, but God also spoke to us. Proverbs 4: 10-11 (New Century) “My Son, Listen and Receive, and You Will Live Longer. 11 I Lead you to the Way of Wisdom “Children trained on Bible principles and the divine way of life avoid rebellion against ruthlessness, violence, immorality, and authority, often leading to unnecessary premature death. When he led him to the earth, he focused not only on getting there but also on using the word of God (His commandments) to build the foundations, children, and children they could live in. Joshua (24:15) proclaimed, “But with me and my house, I am serving the Lord” (Halley, 2000).
Deut 4: 9-10 states; Watch out, be vigilant not to forget what your eyes saw, and make them disappear from your heart while you are alive. Teach them to your kids and their kids. (10) Recall the moments when you were before your God in Horeb and told me. For children. “Deuteronomy 4:40 Obedience builds habits and personalities that promote longevity (Halley, 2000).
From the New International Version Deuteronomy chapter6: 4-9. (4) Listen to the Lord, commanded both parents to transfer the commandments from their hearts to those of their kids (Halley, 2000). The parents should also offer guidance to children in all aspects of life. The parents are mandated to ensure that they bring up their children knowing the Ten Commandments, as they should talk about them anywhere.
The bible has been dominant in laying the way forward on the best practices of bringing up the child. The bible calls for obedience, as it is the best approach that assures longevity in life. Parents are the instruments through which the Ten Commandments are passed to the children (Halley, 2000).
The bible is crucial in determining the role of parents in parenting. The bible calls for the obedience of the children that are in line with the authoritative approach. Parents should ensure that the will God through the Ten Commandments takes place. Biblically, parents have a crucial role in bringing up children.
