My dream job is to become a police officer. My uncle is an NYPD officer he has inspired me from an early age to help protect the streets we live in. I believe all officers must have certain traits to become successful. Police officers must be hardworking, trustworthy, reliable, and have strong leadership skills. Without these traits being a successful officer would not be possible. I have taken and passed the written exams enquired needed to become a police officer. I have also taken physical exams, which tested my strength, vision, hearing, and agility.
Joining the ROTC program in high school has helped me develop extra practice and discipline for me. After finishing high school I attended a police academy for 4-5 months sharpening my skills by practicing criminal investigations, knowing my rights, state and local laws, and civil rights. Finishing College and obtaining my bachelor’s degree program in criminal justice should help with joining the police force.
I have reputation for being on time.
I arrived to all my classes every day and finish all my assignments on time. I have also received recommendations from my teachers and professors saying only good things about my work in class. I am capable of doing all assignments handed to me on the job. Being a leader is no problem. My leadership skills were used for high school and college basketball. My coaches made me a team captain. I helped give preparation speeches and run team plays. My friends always came to me for advice, I motivated a group of friends not to smoke marijuana, and now they cannot stop thanking me.
Being a leader is a trait of mine I really love about myself, I just want to keep helping others follow the right path to being successful. Being a police officer is a dream job of mine. I believe I fit the qualifications of becoming one, and having my desired position as a detective. I am hardworking, trustworthy, and reliable, and have strong leadership skills.
