6. Change Hire trainers from a Task to a Milestone.
7. Create a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) with the following Summary Tasks:
• Documentation
(includes all Tasks down to and including the first Milestone)
• Trainers
(includes all Tasks below the first Milestone and including the second
Milestone)
• Lab (all remaining Tasks)
8. Add Finish-to-Start Dependencies (FS) between all tasks (not summary task) in
order, except Identify existing skills and Identify needed skills which should start at
the same time.
9. Add the summary tasks to the time line.
10. Add WBS codes using Uppercase Letters (Lowercase letters for second level) and
make them visible in a column to the left of your Task Names.
11. Add the following work resources to the project:
a. William Conner with Maximum Units 100%, a Standard Rate of
$100.00/hour and an Overtime Rate of $120.00/hour Prorated
b. Lu Chin with Maximum Units 100%, a Standard Rate of $75.00/hour and

14. Assign William Conner to tasks 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 9.
15. Now you have an over allocation situation. Pam will now be responsible for task 3
(Identify needed skills).
16. Task 12 (Secure Lab Space) will be done by William and Lu. By assigning 2 people,
you are hoping to get this done in half the time. Assign William first. Then assign Lu.
17. Task 14 will be done by Pam.
18. For Task 14 (Conduct Training) change the duration to 12 elapsed days.
19. You now have an over allocation situation. Explain why you have this using the note

20. Assign 100 manuals to Task 14 (Conduct Training).
21. Assign a fixed cost of $500 for a room rental to Task 14 (Conduct Training).
22. Add a Project Summary Task bar. You can name it any.
23. You notice that the project would not finish in year 2022. In order to shorten the
completion date, you (salaried employee-therefore no cost) decide to help out. You
will do this by helping out William only for those tasks that he is working alone.
Make sure to change the tasks to be effort driven.
24. Add a 2 hour weekly meeting first thing in the morning on every Wednesday
throughout the entire project. Add it at the end and name “Weekly Meeting”.
25. How much is this project costing us? Write down the cost using “notes” on task 13.
26. When will the project be completed. Write it on a blank line.
27. Write your name in the header. Centre justify.
