Looking Ahead: Module 8 assignment information
Reflect upon a moral problem that exists in society from Part III: Moral Problems, of the Cahn (2016) text. This issue will form the core of your final assignment for this course. For instance, you might choose Immigration as a topic.
Review each of the moral problems in Part III, then select a single topic. If you decide not to choose one of the moral problems in Part III of the text, you may choose one that does not appear on the list. If you choose one that is not on the list, you must obtain your instructor’s permission.
Your final assignment in module 8 will be a written assignment describing the current issue and ethical dilemmas of your chosen moral problems. You are permitted to submit a draft of this paper in Module 7. This will help focus on areas that may need more attention.
Module 1 Assignment:
Write an essay addressing each of the following points. Be sure to completely answer all the questions for each bullet point. There should a minimum of four sections, one for each bullet below. Separate each section in your paper with a clear heading that allows your professor to know which bullet you are addressing in that section of your paper. Support your ideas with at least two (2) citations in your essay. Make sure to reference the citations using the APA writing style for the essay. The cover page and reference page do not count towards the minimum word amount. Review the rubric criteria for this assignment.
For the chosen or approved topic, please research “scholarly views” on your topic, in favor and not in favor of the topic. For immigration, an “in-favor” topic might be banning all immigrants and an “against” view might be allow any immigrant to come into your country; this is not just an issue for the United States.
· Your paper must introduce the topic with its definition/background,
· Introduce 2-3 reasons “from scholars” in favor and against the topic, and finally
· Provide a summary of your findings, not an opinion on right or wrong yet, just the facts from opposing viewpoints, please.
