Discussion
The advancement of the ICT has helped to gain the advantages of the technology for the organizations. The organizations are using the technologies for the expansion of the business apart from that the companies are also doing the marketing and advertising through the different websites and using the different technologies as the platform for the communication (Cochrane, Larocque & Butler,2015). The main objective of this paper is to evaluate the impact of using the ICT in the business field. In order to do this the analysis of the three websites are carried out. This analysis of the websites helps to indentify the process of the doing business of those respective companies along with that it will also indicate the possible advantages and disadvantages present in the websites of those companies. The selected food companies in this case are the three food chain organizations, which are famous for their services and has different outlets in different parts f the world.
The analysis of the websites helps to find the possible competitors, target markets and the business situation of the respective organization.
The competitive analysis of the websites are important and can indicate the advantages and the disadvantages of the respective websites. The advantages of the websites indicates the business opportunities for the organization using the websites on the other hand the disadvantages indicates the areas for the improvement of the websites and the business of the respective companies for doing the business more effectively.
In this paper the selected three websites are related to the three famous food chain companies-MacDonald’s, KFC and Burger King.
The over view of the website of this food company indicates that the functioning of the websites can be divided into six sections. The detailed analysis and the functioning of these sections are discussed below.
Advertising:
The MacDonald’s uses different advertisement campaigns in order to promote their business. These campaigns are extensive in nature which includes advertising through radio, television and billboards. This organization is using the internet to tell the worlds about their products and services. In order to do this they are giving updates about these current advertisement campaigns and the happenings of the events running at different outlets of different stores (Chen et al.,2015). In order to get the consumer informed about their new product the website also provides a notification tab. Clicking on the notification tab will ensure the consumer that they will be notified about the new product and services provided by this food chain company. In order to improvise the service the company also uses the facebook and twitter to take the feedback of the consumers.
Sales: this company has not highlight the sales in details on their websites however, they have state the investors opportunities regarding their food chain companies (Peddie et al.,2015). Different analytical and statistical values are given to explain the current position and growth of the company.
Recruitment: There is a link stating the career options. In that link the organization has stated then different positions and opportunities one can find in this company (Wilson et al.,2016). The available posts are present all around the worlds. The job seekers can select any location to find the vacancies at that particular position. It also states the working culture of the company and the tips for the interview at MacDonals’s.
Website analysis of the MacDonald’s
Social Media: The company uses social media for promoting their products and reaching to the large base of consumers. They are taking feedbacks of the consumers through different forms of the social media such as facebook and twitter.
Communication and the ethical standards: The organization states that the ethical standard and the laws are maintained in the business. Apart from that the foods provided by them are of standard quality.
Review of the design of the website: The design of the websites indicate sthe performance of the websites along with the user friendliness of the website. On the basis of these parameters the websites can be said to be good enough to attract the users and other stakeholders to get interested about the company. The performance of the website is good as it can be seen that the performance of the website is sustainable and well scripted.
Advantages:
- Good user interface helps the visitors of the website to view the detailed products.
- The website is scalable.
- The options regarding the various things can be easily ffound out from the websites.
- The response of the website is fast.
- On the technical aspect the performance of the website is good.
Disadvantages:
- Too many details about the organization and their doings are mentioned in the website.
- The service or the product are not presented properly.
The analysis of the website of KFC has certain features.
Sales: The promotion tab of the website denotes the sales and the advertising campaign of the website. Like the website of the MacDonald’s this website is not focused on the promotion in larger aspects. The sales and the promotion link is only concerned about the promotion of the variety of food items.
Recruitment: The website has a link named careers where the posts available in the different parts and outlets of the KFC are available. The job seekers has to provide the location details to search the available post at that certain location.
Franchising: Under this link the details about the growth of the company has been given. This is similar initiative as the website of the MacDonald’s.
Nutrition: The website reflects that the company is very much concerned about the quality of the food. Under the nutrition tab the nutrition calculator and guide is given so that the consumers can know the amount of calories in their food along with the food value with respect to the quality and health.
Maintaining the ethics: The company is doing the business in an ethical way along with maintain the law. This has been stated under link “ Legal(Agarwal & Singh,2016). Along with that the they are also using the right and the healthy food ingredients for making the food. This has been stated under the link named “ Responsibility”.
Review of design and the performance of the website: The website is quite slow. However, the website is informative about the company and its products (Cerna,2017). Running of too much over head has caused the website to response slow . The links and menus cannot be found easily in the website.
Advantages:
- Initially the presentation of the website seems relevant.
- Finding food items and their price is easy.
- The separate tab for getting the news about the organization is easier.
Disadvantage:
- The response time of the website is not good.
- User will not easily find out the other details regarding this food chain.
- On the technical aspect the performance of this website is not good.
Sales: There is no particular link under this name in the website. However there is tab under the link franchise where the organization has showcased the expand and the business of the this food chain. The statistics can attract the investors easily.
Responsibility: Under this link the company stated certain responsibility regarding the delivery of the product. It stated that the foods served by the company are made from the safe and healthy ingridients are maintain the quality.
News and press: Under this link the company shares the events and the campaign those are taken to promote the brand. The newsletter tab ensures the user will be notified in case if the new service is launched.
Review of the website: The responses of the website is fast, and the presentation is attractive. The design of the websites indicate sthe performance of the websites along with the user friendliness of the website. On the basis of these parameters the websites can be said to be good enough to attract the users and other stakeholders to get interested about the company. The performance of the website is good as it can be seen that the performance of the website is sustainable and well scripted.
Advantages:
- The website is user friendly in perspective of usage.
- The presentation is good.
- On the basis of the technical details
Disadvantages:
- Finding the price is difficult.
- Store locator does not work properly. The main page is about the location of the store. The main theme of the page could be related to the Burger King.
- Finding the price of the food item is difficult.
Conclusion
It can be concluded form the above discussion that the analysis of the three website has given a clear review about the performance of the websites. The performance and the presentation of the websites gives a review about the acceptability of the websites along with the maintenance of the websites. The good presentation of the websites helps the organization to expand and promote the business through the electronic medium . However, the analysis of the three websites indicates that the websites of the burger king and MacDonald’s is performing well.
