In the document attached, I highlighted the discussion question and the topic was Business Administration. I also highlighted two class mates to respond too.

Part 1 Explore your research guide
Go to the research guide for your program/major (or one that
interests you, if you are undecided on your major). Explore the
guide’s sections. In a full paragraph, tell us what you found in or
learned from your research guide. What might you find
particularly useful in the future?
Part 2 Choose your topic
Start thinking about a topic that you would like to explore in this
course. Your topic should be something that interests you as you will
be working with the topic for your upcoming assignments, including
the final paper. It’s best if your topic is related to your program (field
of study). Looking at the research guide may give you some ideas.
To help you understand what you will be doing with this topic, go to
the Assignments area of classroom and read instructions for each
assignment, as well as templates and samples.
After you have reviewed the assignment instructions, decide on the
topic you will write about. In your initial post, describe the topic
and how you might explore it. An example of how one student
selected her topic by looking at the research guide is included here:
One way to select a topic.

Class and Professor,
The major I am pursuing is a Bachelor of Health Sciences. To support my future studies, I will use
the Sports and Health Science guide. I am a few classes in already but this is the first time I have
seen this guide. After searching around I know it will be very helpful for my future classes. I just
finished an exercise physiology class and one of my biggest struggles was finding studies related
to the topic we were discussing for the week. Now, using this guide, I have a variety of resources
for finding a scholarly article or study.
For my topic, I have decided to write about stress and its effect on the body. My major is in
Health Sciences so I wanted to get practice writing a science-based paper since I know I will have
to do many more as I pursue my degree. I chose stress because in this phase of my life, three kids
under four, completing coursework, and keeping up with work demands, I’ve found myself feeling
the occasional stress. I am interested in what stress does to the body, specifically how it
imbalances your hormones in the short and long-term and why that’s important. Hormones are a
topic that I’ve always been interested in as I became a Paramedic, and I think this is a perfect
opportunity to do a “deep dive” into specific information. I am also going to explore ways to
manage stress levels immediately and what you can do over time to prepare yourself to handle
stress better in the future. I am looking forward to getting this practice in writing a scientific
paper.

Hello everyone. My current major is Supply Chain Management. I initially chose this program
because I’m currently a supply sergeant in the Army. I felt as though I’d already be ahead of my
game because of the experience I have in the military just in case I plan on getting a job in the
civilian world. Although I enjoy supply some days are often times it gets overwhelming so I’m
thinking about changing my major. Nursing will be the program that I will be researching.
I have always been interested in nursing since a child. As a child I would label them as
“superheroes with superpowers” because in my mind they were a saving grace. The thought of
someone genuinely caring, loving, supporting, and solving your problems is phenomenal. For the
fact that sometimes you can’t receive that from family. My little brother was a premature baby
which resulted in him being in the hospital way longer than expected. The dedication I seen
through majority of the nurses I would encounter help make this perception that I have on nurses. I
will always respect them for their work.
It’s a book in the school’s library by the name of “The Future of Nursing: Leading Change,
Advancing Health” that I thought would be great to look into. The book is giving insight on what
needs to be changed to make nurses better and more knowledgeable. Including nursing practices

into more schools, public health centers, long-term facilities, and battlefields is a good start. I
learned that 62.2% of nurses are located into hospitals. Although the world may think there are
enough nurses right now, truthfully it’s not. According to this book there are concerns regarding
the number of nurses available to meet demands of the health care system. The healthcare system
is always evolving in which makes it hard for some to adapt to the rapid changes. I am looking

to be staying focused and within the scope of my current major One idea that emerged from looking at
