Use the eight phases of the communication process toanalyze a miscommunicationyou’ve recently had with a co-worker, supervisor, classmate, teacher, friend, or family member. What idea were you trying to share? How did you encode and transmit it? Did the receiver get the message? Did the receiver correctly decode the message? How do you know? Based on your analysis, identify and explain the barriers that prevented your successful communication in this instance. You should be able to complete this assignment in approximately two-three pages. Here is a website that states the eight phases of the communication process. https://www.economicsdiscussion.net/management/com… You can use other sources as well that describe the eight phases of communication. Just make sure that they are credible.
Here is the scenario I had:
I’ve had a miscommunication with my co-worker at work. I saw that my co-worker cross-contaminated samples in our PCR process, but they didn’t realize it and continued working on the samples instead of re-doing the process to ensure accuracy. I mentioned it to my co-worker and said: “Hey, you cross-contaminated the run, and you need to re-do it. You also forgot to change your gloves after you touched that patient sample and didn’t log the samples incorrectly. You should be more careful and make sure that you log in everything correctly. We’ve had a lot of weird results lately, and I don’t want to accuse you of something but your actions lead to these incorrect results”. My co-worker was very offended and complained to HR that I’ve been micro-managing him and that I should stay out of his way. I didn’t mean it insulting in any way, but now I have an HR complaint against me, and people think that I’m trying to be the boss which is not true at all.
