Running Head: LEADERSHIP MODEL 1
LEADERSHIP MODEL 2
Fielder model |
Situation theory |
Path-goal theory |
Fielder model believes that the main factor behind the success of a leader in the personal leadership style. Fielder came up with the least preferred coworker questionnaire to check if an individual is task-oriented or the person is relationship-oriented. Fielder believes that leadership style is constant (Robbins & Judge, 2019). |
This leadership model focuses on followers, whereby it believes that successful leaders rely on choosing the best leadership style connected to the follower’s readiness to accomplish the predetermined objectives and tasks. The theory focuses on the follower’s willingness and unwillingness to participate in doing a specific task (Robbins & Judge, 2019). The main focus is on the motivation that the followers have. |
This theory believes that the leaders have the task to offer their followers with support, information and other required resources geared to the achievement of goals and objectives of an organization (Robbins & Judge, 2019). Leadership should show the directive leadership as well as supportive leadership style towards the attainment of the predetermined goals and objectives of the organization. |
These model are connected to my result from my evaluation of my leadership character that I evaluated on the previous assignment. The fielder model is a model that states that the success of a leader is connected to the individual leadership style. After evaluating myself, I stated that my leadership styles, like communication skills, active listener, and goal setting, among other personal characters, made me a successful leader. This means that I am a good leader following the fielder model of leadership in my work as a leader.
I also have shown the implementation of situation theory. This theory is mostly focused on the followers’ willingness and ability to listen to the leader (Robbins & Judge, 2019). From my previous test of leadership, I stated that as a leader, I was an active listener. A person needs to listen to what employees are saying so that they might be willing to follow up the instructions provided by a leader fully. In this case, I gave the employee room to express themselves, which them to be willing to air their ideas and work towards the attainment of the organization goal.
Lastly, I implemented the path-goal theory. I was good at goal setting. I was providing my employees with the identification of goals that we were working on achieving as an organization which gave them the drive to attain the objectives as stated on my evaluation that as an individual I acknowledge that the setting of goals equals individual success which is one of the reasons that I say I implemented the path-goal theory or model.
