This week you are going to act as a travel agent and give an overview to an entire sub-region within the Europe realm. Assume that your audience knows nothing of the area.
You may choose from one of the following sub-regions and must cover each of the countries in that sub-region: The British Isles (Ireland, England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland), Western Europe (France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Austria), Mediterranean Europe (Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece, Cyprus), The Micro-states (Liechtenstein, Andorra, Vatican City, Monaco, Malta, San Mario), Northern Europe (Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark), The Baltics & East Central Europe(Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary), South-Eastern Europe (Solvenia, Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania) or Eastern Europe (Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, Belarus, Ukraine.)
Create a PowerPoint slideshow showing what someone should expect and would need to know about traveling to this European sub-region. (You may include information for the leisure tourist or the business tourist.)
Each of your slides should include the following bulleted information/research and images for this 80 point project:
Geographic description of the region with a map (10 points)
Physical features (landforms and water) and climate zones/weather (10 points)
Culture (religion, language, customs, currency, foods, dress, etc.) – (a compare/contrast chart may be helpful) (10 points)

BRITISH ISLES

The British isles is a region located in the north Atlantic ocean.

British isles consists of the two large islands; Ireland and great Britain and other 5000 small islands.

Among the island includes the Ireland, Wales, Scotland, England and the Northern Ireland.

It occupies an area of 315,159 square kilometers.

Its population is over 70 million.

There is a variety of mountain ranges in British isles, including the valleys and the vales.

Some special insects are only found in Britain for example the Eudarcia Richardson which is commonly found in

-Halloween event was invented in Ireland.
-Religious ceremonies are highly valued in Ireland as they play a major role in festivals and

-Ireland emphasizes on this kind of food; potatoes, meat, cereals, vegetables and broccoli.
-There is a famous dance by the name River dance, well-known worldwide (Haydem M.M.A &
Moonan G.A, 1922).
-major sports practices here are; soccer, hurling, hockey, football and rugby.
-Ireland is entitled to various Literature Nobel prizes won by Samuel Beckett, Bram stoker,
Jonathan swift among others.
-Thin Lizzy, Van Morrison and Cranberries are famous artists Ireland is proud of.
-Irish culture is also known of roasts and stews as their favorite food.
– Divorce in Ireland was legalized in 1995.
England
England is a country in the United Kingdom.
England is bordered by Wales , which is to its west and Scotland on its North.
England is considered the most populated country in UK with around 54 million people(Hume D ,1759) .
England’s largest lake is known as Wildermere.
Scafell Pike is the largest mountain in England with 978 meters high.
England uses sterling pound as its economic currency.
The famous book “Romeo and Juliet” was written by an English author, William Shakespeare.
England has a big interest in sports and so far it has hosted three Olympics games in 1908,1948 and 2012.
England is well known for industrialization as it was the first country to be industrialized after the industrial
revolution that took place in 1960.
England consist of big cities such as Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham with London as its capital city.
World Wide Web was invented in England with Tim Berners-Lee credited to its invention.
England is well known for football producing smart players like; Wayne Rooney, Peter Croach and Gareth
Southgate.
Wales
Wales is a mountainous country located in Great Britain. It is bordered by only one country, England to its East while all other
directions covered by the sea.
According to (Johns M., 2016), Wales is considered a big tourist attraction site with big seven tourist attraction sites entitled; The
seven wonders of Wales which consist of waterfalls, mountains, bridge,well,yew trees and two churches.
Welsh national flag had a red dragon used by Henry VII in Bosworth’s battle in 1485.
Wales has a place with the second longest name in the world by the name
“Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch”(Johnes M., 2016).
Rugby is famous in Wales as this is its national sport.
Wales is the biggest source of natural materials.
Welsh gold was used to make wedding rings mostly used by British royal families.
A poetry, music and literature festival, Eisteddfod, is held annually in wales.
The dwarf dog corgi dog originates from wales.
Wales is proud of the famous spine-tingling Hannibal Lecter actor, Anthony Hopkins who was born in 1937 in Wales.
Due to Wales’s linguist diversity, Microsoft developed and offered them a special windows version by the name, ‘Welsh Windows’.
The highest mountain in the world, Mount Everest, was named after Welshman Sir George Everest.
It’s ridiculous that sheep outnumber people in Wales.
Scotland
It is an island located in the northern Europe
The island comprises the Shetland, outer and inner Hebrides and the Orkney islands.
The Scotland sub-region has about 800 islands. the lowlands of the central Scotland has features that has resulted due to
volcanic eruptions( Orkney. A., 2010).
It has physical characteristics that make it unique, it is covered by lochs that is rugged hills and lakes that has resulted
due to glacial occurrence.
This country is made unique due to its green forests and the towering mountains hence making lively the entire subregion.
However, it has a coastline, highlands and even rivers.
Scottish culture is identified by music festivals and their tradition worldwide. A national costume is available in the
region so as to identify their unique culture.
The Scotland region has special areas that attract tourist. This includes the Edinburgh Castle, the Loch Lomond.
National parks, a variety of museums and also the distillers.
It’s a country that attract tourist worldwide due to its beautiful flora and fauna. its fauna include the wild mammals, wild
cats having a larger number.
European blueberry, the Myrica gale, the SpearnThistle and the Wood anemone are some flowers found in the Scottish
land.
The legal system is the Scots law. it involves a mixed system that is legal. Moreover, common law and civil law elements
are included in their law.
Northern Ireland
this region is located in Britain. it connects the regions of the united kingdom.
the land has unique landforms including the Bann and the Foyle being the largest rivers in the
area.
it has smooth rounded landscape made up of drumlines that are formed as a result of
glaciation.
The uniqueness of the culture of the Northern Ireland is their leading arts(Nauwelaers C.,
2013). this covers the music, their heritage, the visual arts and the literature.
the Giant’s Causeway it the top rated venue to tour. others include the castle, the
Mussenden Temple and the Dunluce Castle.
the region has beautiful wildlife including the fauna and the flora. the mammals in the
include the meadows, the parkland and the woods.
some of the interesting laws about the Irelands is the Marketing of Eggs Act.
one has to be offered with insurance so as to avoid being in trouble.
