Autobiography Final Assignment |
This assignment is where you will put together everything you’ve learned in this course, the various factors that affect who someone is and how they become that person.
Write an autobiography, but not just any autobiography–your sociological autobiography. The main idea of your autobiography is to explain how you decided to go into the field of health care and what has made you the person you are today.
Tell your life story, where you came from, how you got where you are, etc. using the sociological concepts covered in this course to explain your life.
Concepts should include the following variables:
· Social class
· Status
· Gender
· Race/ethnicity
· Religion
· Role
· Primary and secondary groups
· Anything relevant to who you are
Be sure to answer these questions in your sociological autobiography:
· How do these sociological variables contribute to who you are today?
· Do you feel you would be a different person if any or all of these variables were changed?
· Which variables and specific events in your life have resulted in your decision to work in the field of health care?
· Which of the sociological perspectives (select one of the contemporary sociological theories covered in this course/textbook) covered in this course do you hold with respect to health and medicine? Explain your choice. How does this perspective explain why you have chosen to go into this field?
Your paper should be approximately 1000 words in length, be double-spaced, and have a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. List your references at the end of the paper in standard format and use in-text citations where applicable.
You may use your textbook and other reliable sources as references.

In this problem-solving exercise, you will use a table to create your own resume. Your completed document will look similar to the one shown in Figure 1. Examples of resume formats: · Examine · Examine Assignment Directions: 1. Create a three-column table with four rows to start—you can add more rows as needed. Remove all of the borders. 2. Add a bottom border to the top row, and a right border to the first column. The bottom border of the first cell may be overwritten when you add the border to the right of the first column. If necessary, re-apply the bottom border. 3. Fill in your name and personal information at the top of the table, formatting it appropriately. 4. Direct your objective statement toward the job for which you are applying. You can write this as if applying for the job you already have, one you would like to have, or for a specific job posting. 5. Using the figures as a model, enter information for your own resume. The content of the figures provide tips on the type of information and format to use when writing a resume. 6. Proofread your resume and correct any spelling, grammar, or typographical errors.
