elements of their assignments. We recommend that you “tick off” each of the
points below as you prepare your work for submission. If you need any help, ask
your tutor and /or visit https://bucks.ac.uk/students/academicadvice/assessment-

Overall Strengths of the Assignment:
You have identified that you are discussing
teamworking in nursing.
You have some relevant information about
teamworking included in your work
You have tried to use referencing
Action Plan for Student Improvement:
Unfortunately, you have not demonstrated that you
have successfully addressed the learning
outcomes for this assessment.
I strongly recommend that you seek the advice and
support of the LDU regarding how to plan and
structure an essay and how to use supporting
evidence and referencing in your work.
It appears that you have not fully understood the
relevance of choosing a core article about
teamwork in nursing. You need to use this to assist
you in your discussion about teamworking in this
essay. If you are not sure what article to use, there
is one available in the assignment brief folder you
can use.
You need to carefully read the instructions on the
assignment brief and follow these to ensure that
you address all the requirements to b able to pass
the assignment.
You need a title page as per the assignment brief.
To pass this assignment you need to:
Write an introduction that outlines the aim of the
assignment, gives a rationale for choosing
teamworking and signposts the reader to the
summary of the chosen article in the appendix.
In the main body of your assignment you need to
address the key concepts of teamworking. You
have some identified – expand these and draw in
supporting reference sources that you have read
(such as other articles, the NMC code etc)
Make sure you think about the order and flow of
these points.
Reflect on how you will use what you have learned
in your research of teamworking in nursing to
develop yourself as a student nurse. What have
your learned, what skills do you need to develop,
how might you do this?
Provide a conclusion that summarises the key
points in your assignment.
It appears that you may have used one article form
the Journal of Nursing management and tried to
infer that you have read other papers, or you just
do not know how to reference. You do need to read
widely around your topic area so that you can
demonstrate you have good knowledge and
comprehension.

NB All marks are provisional until confirmed by a
formally constituted Assessment Board. If you
have not achieved the pass mark of 40%, a
decision will be made about whether you are
permitted to resubmit the work. Registry will
normally post the Board results within 5 working
days after the Board (via the organisational shell)
and these will confirm whether you are permitted
to resubmit, and the confirmed deadline. An
announcement will be made once the Board
results are posted.
PAGE 1
Comment 1
you need to include a front title page as outlined in the assignment brief. Be sure to include
this in future assignments
Comment 2
When you start an assignment it is beneficial to introduce the topic and then outline the
purpose of the essay.
for example:
It is recognised that teamwork is an important factor in the safe and effective delivery of
healthcare. This assignment will explore the concept of teamwork through the exploration
of…………..
Comment 3
You need an introduction that outlines the purpose of your essay and includes information
about what will be addressed. you also need to signpost the reader to the article you used
and refer to it in the appendix.
Comment 4
This sentence stands alone and as such has little meaning. By starting with ‘ensuring’ there
is an expectation from the reader that you will continue this sentence – as it stands it is
unfinished.
Comment 5
who reported this? This is where you need to pop in a reference to support what you are
saying
Comment 6
Reference needed here to support this
Comment 7
Kalish, et.al., (2010)
Comment 8
this does not read well
Strikethrough.
Comment 10
this is unclear
PAGE 2
Comment 11
less turn over of what? Be clear
Comment 12
is this the number of jobs? What do you mean by increases the job rate?
Comment 13
How can you be sure? Where is your supporting evidence?
Comment 14
what is the relevance of this point? It doesn’t seem to fit here
Comment 15
co-operation
Comment 16
This is a concerning statement. Nurses need to work in collaboration with their patient/client
to provide patient centred care (ie care that is acceptable to the patient and not just what
fits the nurses needs )
Comment 17
the NMC is not the correct reference source here for what you are saying/
Comment 18
How do leaders achieve this?
Comment 19
effective would be a better term to use here
Comment 20
just communicating does not achieve this. what type of communication achieves this?
PAGE 3
PAGE 4
Comment 21
as an adult and general nursing what?
Comment 22
try to use more academic language – this sounds as though you are talking to a friend “sort
out stuff!”
Comment 23
what is this? Where is the reference?
Comment 24
You have not reflected effectively here. you need to think about what you have learned about
teamworking and think about how you will take this forward in your role as a student nurse.
How will you develop and enhance these skills in yourself and perhaps others?
Comment 25
You need a conclusion to your work
PAGE 5
Comment 26
Why are you using the same article but trying to pass it off as separate reference sources?
Comment 27
and this one
Comment 28
this is not the reference for the NMC
Comment 29
no comment
Comment 30
no comment
Comment 31
it appears that you have only actually read one article and are trying to use this with the
names of authors within it as separate sources.
PAGE 6
Comment 32
If this was your summary then you have not used only one article and provided a summary
of it. You also need to label this as your appendix.
