Project Overview/Statement of problem
This project uses a device called catapault that tracks speed of wide receivers in game vs practice. During the 10 game American football season a group of 13 wide receiver wore this tracking device. In this project it will show what is the best amount of time to practice in order for wide receivers and football players to reach top speeds in game based on the catapaults data. Statement of problem
The problem is that many coaches over train athletes so they are not ready for the game. Some practice sessions are to long and increase athletes chances of fatigue and injury on game day. Ideally we want athletes to perform at their best on game day so there has to be a “sweet spot” for the optimal amount of practice time to keep athletes fresh for game day. This amount of practice time will assist coaches on giving football players the right amount of time to practice to maximize the most in practice and not go overboard resulting in poor performance on game day.
REVIEW OF LITERATURE (10 Pages 10 scholarly sources no more than 5-10 years outdated)
Introduction
History of evolution of of Practice and Performance training in football how has this question of minutes of practice v. performance been tracked? 1970, 80, 90, 2000, 2010 to present
History of evolution Prac and Perf for wide receivers? 1970, 80, 90, 2000, 2010 to present
Bridge from old practices to new ones with wearable tech.
Present What is this wearable tech? History? Claims
What to Kins have to say? Sports Psychology (placebo effect?)
Any studies on this specific vest.

How fast and practice time how does that affect gametime?

Chapter 1 Introduction (5 pages)
Wearable tech
Context When, How long, purp. Include what the week looks like for players
Describe quantity of data that you have.
The question is, what use it?
Statement of the Problem
RQ Does tracking performance during practice time using wearable tech impact performance during game time?
Is there a relationship between wide receiver practice / speed and game time / speed?
Select the week day to be used.
Select a Game (s)
Select Practices
For player who quit, look at average with and without the player. Just exclude.
If so, what is the optimal amount of time for wide-receiver practice and play according to the wearable tech data?
Justification
You do not have a comparison of data before the vest, so you are establishing a foundation for future performance studies. You are the pioneer.
Limitations
Things you cannot control
Things that you cannot claim – example that this wearable tech will change lives, etc.
Small N
Delimitations
You are only studying wide receivers
You are pooling the numbers in aggregated (not comparing individuals)
Only one type of tech.
